Body + screw = blind rivet stud

A blind rivet stud consists of a sleeve (blind rivet nut without internal thread) and a stud that are joined to one another. As HONSEL has been manufacturing both components in-house for decades, the know-how from the manufacture of blind rivet nuts can be put to very good use also for the production of blind rivet studs so that every possible variation can be quickly and flexibly combined and supplied in order to meet individual customers’ demands with a very wide range of variants.


360° laser welded

All-round laser welding ensures a 100% tight bond between the body and screw that withstands even the toughest of requirements. There are only a very few suppliers who offer these highly specialised and high quality connections, and HONSEL’s range is practically unlimited.

Crimped

Corrosion protection can be effectively achieved by connecting the body and screw mechanically by crimping. This method makes it possible to separately coat the two individual components galvanically before they are connected – They can even be corrosion protected using two different methods if required. Only after surface coating are the body and screw firmly connected into a blind rivet stud.


Different thread designs

Every thread is naturally also available at short notice in all lengths and forms (fine thread, coarse thread, etc.) on customer demand.


Tightly sealed

By analogy with the process for the sealing of blind rivet nuts, various solutions for reliable gas-tight and water-tight joints are also possible with blind rivet studs – either in the form of loose or machine-assembled neoprene rings or certified sealants injection moulded directly onto the underside of the head.


Scratch protection

In the automotive industry, and particularly during final assembly, the surfaces of the components are very susceptible to scratches and other damage. If a blind rivet nut is not positioned and inserted exactly – as can easily happen during manual assembly – the surface of the component may be scratched. HONSEL has recognised this problem and developed a scratch preventative that can be applied to the blind rivet stud. Easy riveting is thus still assured, but the component is protected from scratching.
