Mechanical sealing - without any sealant

The HONSEL BLIND RIVET NUT crimpSEAL ensures reliable sealing directly on the component and within the bore - entirely without additional sealant. Neither sealing rings nor injection moulding are required.

The sealing effect is created by a circumferential chamfer that presses into the bore during the setting process, as well as by a sealing ring positioned beneath the head, which - depending on the component material - presses into the component or deforms against the surface to create a seal.

The setting process involves two independent sealing surfaces: the chamfer on the shank seals the bore inlet. The circumferential ring seals the component surface from above.

Available versions

The M5, M6 and M8 sizes have been extensively simulated and practically tested across the standard clamping ranges of 0.5 to 5.0 mm for general function, compliance with technical values, and sealing performance in accordance with HONSEL TL 6.0.01.0.

SETTING TOOLS FOR HONSEL crimpSEAL

Existing HONSEL standard setting tools can continue to be used without any modifications. Manual hand setting tools as well as pneumatic-hydraulic or battery-powered setting tools can be used without restriction. The size range M5, M6 and M8 has been developed and proven.

The HONSEL crimpSEAL is manufactured according to the specific application, but can also be supplied from standard stock. Sealing performance is tested and guaranteed in accordance with HONSEL standard TL 6.0.01.0. Testing to customer-specific standards is also available on request.
