Self clinching parts

HONSEL self-clinching elements with inside and outside thread are particularly suitable for use in thin sheet metal. They allow the thickness of the parts as a whole to be reduced, with the benefits of lower weight and material saving.

The self-clinching element displaces the material in the hole, which flows into an undercut in the fastener. After setting, the elements are permanently connected to the base material such that any screw connections can subsequently be removed without risking displacement of the fastener.

Self clinching nuts

A self-clinching nut is a threaded fastener with a knurl and a groove. The knurl ensures that the displaced material is distributed evenly into the groove on the nut when it is embedded into the metal sheet, such that an especially secure hold is achieved.
